Data Retention Policy
The private pilot is designed around short-lived customer job storage.

Current pilot retention schedule

| Job request and status data | Stored with the job and deleted on the same schedule. |
| Pilot authentication cookie | Currently configured to expire after up to 168 hours. Signing out removes the active browser session cookie. |
| Routine hosting, security, and API logs | May be retained by service providers under their own operational, security, and legal policies. These logs are not intended to contain complete customer reports, but may include technical metadata. |
| Support emails | Retained as reasonably needed to respond, document the request, secure the service, and meet legal or business-record obligations. |
How the 72-hour period works
The application periodically removes expired job directories from its persistent active storage. The 72-hour period is a maximum operational target, not a promise that files will remain available for the full period. A user should download a needed report promptly because redeployments, failures, or maintenance can remove access sooner.
Early deletion requests
You may request early deletion by emailing support@understanddecide.com. Include the job identifier and enough information to locate the job. We may be unable to locate a job after automatic deletion.
Provider retention and legal exceptions
Hosting and analysis providers may maintain backups, abuse-prevention records, security logs, or legally required records outside the active application storage controlled by the pilot. Information may also be retained longer when reasonably necessary to investigate abuse, protect users, resolve disputes, or comply with law.
Future changes
Retention periods may change as the product architecture changes. Any material change will be reflected on this page and in the upload flow before broader use.
