Terms of Use

1. Acceptance and eligibility

By accessing or using the service, you agree to these Terms. You must be at least 18 years old and legally capable of entering into an agreement to purchase and use the service.

2. What the service provides

Roof Quote Analyzer reviews roofing quote documents that you supply and generates informational summaries, comparisons, observations, and questions. It evaluates the written material only. The currently supported scope is described in the application and may change over time.

3. No professional advice or verification

The service does not inspect property, verify measurements, confirm contractor licensing or insurance, determine code compliance, assess workmanship or product quality, determine whether a price is competitive, or provide legal, engineering, architectural, insurance, tax, financial, or contracting advice. Reports do not recommend or endorse a contractor. You remain responsible for obtaining appropriate professional advice and independently verifying information before acting.

4. AI and document limitations

Automated extraction and analysis can be incomplete, inaccurate, or affected by scan quality, handwriting, missing pages, document layout, or ambiguous wording. You must review the original documents and confirm material details directly with the contractor or an appropriate professional before signing or paying a contractor.

5. Your documents and permissions

You may upload only documents that you own, are authorized to use, or otherwise have permission to submit for analysis. You retain your rights in those documents. You grant us and our service providers a limited right to process them as reasonably necessary to provide, secure, perform short-retention quality assurance, troubleshoot, and support the requested service as described in the Privacy Policy.

6. Sensitive information

Do not upload Social Security numbers, bank or card credentials, passwords, medical records, government identification numbers, or other information that is not needed for the quote review. Remove unnecessary personal information when practical.

7. Purchases, authorization, and charges

Uploading documents and receiving the personalized preview are free and do not require a payment card. The service analyzes the uploaded documents and prepares the full report package before presenting the optional purchase step. The preview is a limited portion of that completed analysis; full findings, questions, comparisons, and report files remain locked unless purchased.

The applicable full-report price is shown before you continue to Stripe Checkout. If you affirmatively choose to purchase, Stripe may place a payment authorization. The application re-verifies that the completed analysis and preview exist, captures the authorized amount after successful payment, and then makes the customer report package available. Uploads that are blocked, partial, or fail before a preview is created are not offered a paid unlock.

You must provide a delivery email address with the job. After a successful purchase, the service sends that address the unlocked results-page link, each available HTML and PDF report link, and the complete ZIP link. These links are short-lived and stop working when the job is deleted under the Data Retention Policy. Download the ZIP promptly if you want to keep the reports.

A released authorization may remain visible as pending for a period determined by your bank or card issuer. That is not a refund because the payment was not captured. If a completed purchase appears incorrect, duplicated, or was not delivered as described, contact support@understanddecide.com. Refunds, credits, or other remedies will be provided when required by law or when we determine they are appropriate for a service or billing error.

8. Acceptable use

You may not use the service to violate law, infringe rights, impersonate another person or business, obtain unauthorized access, introduce malicious code, overload or probe the service, bypass security or payment controls, automate abusive requests, or analyze documents you are not authorized to submit.

9. Availability and changes

The service is provided on an as-available basis. Jobs can fail, deployments can interrupt processing, and data may be removed under the retention policy. We may change limits, supported files, features, prices, or availability. The price shown before a purchase applies to that purchase.

10. Intellectual property and report use

The service, site design, software, report format, and branding are owned by Understand / Decide or its licensors. You may use and share a generated report for your own evaluation of the related quote. You may not resell, white-label, reverse engineer, or commercially redistribute the service or protected portions of it without written permission except where law permits.

11. Feedback

If you provide feedback, you allow us to use it without restriction or compensation, provided we do not publicly identify you without permission.

12. Disclaimers

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the service and reports are provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of accuracy, completeness, merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, or uninterrupted operation.

13. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Understand / Decide will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, lost profits, lost data, project delays, contractor disputes, property damage, or decisions made using a report. Any direct liability arising from a paid Roof Quote Analyzer review will not exceed the greater of the amount paid for the affected review or US $100 in the aggregate. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so portions of this section may not apply.

14. Suspension and termination

We may suspend or terminate access for misuse, security risk, violation of these Terms, or discontinuation of the service. You may stop using the service at any time.

15. Governing law

To the extent permitted by law, these Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Illinois, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.

16. Changes and contact
